The PT103 sampler is located below the grate plate in the 3rd or 4th chamber and is perpendicular to the axis of the grate cooler, and consists of a screw conveyor, which is located in a cylinder, and its sampling end is equipped with a hopper covered by a sampling grid (standard bore 12 mm).
Drill holes in the bottom of the cylinder (standard hole diameter 2 mm) to remove unwanted parts of the sample (standard particle size < 2 mm), which will then fall to the grate cooler.
Inverted conical holes are drilled on several fixed grate plates in the middle of the grate cooler. The movement of the moving grate plate on top of the fixed grate plate keeps the hole open, ensuring no blockage occurs.
During the sampling cycle, as the sampler rotates, the material of the grate plate drilled through the grate cooler is secured in place by nozzles mounted on the frame and falls to the inlet of the sampler. It is then pushed by internal spiral convection until it falls into the collection port. The excess material is recycled directly to the cooler (energy chain or disc conveyor).
The nozzles are evacuated through a pneumatic double gate system consisting of two phase angle controlled gate valves ensuring tightness with the inside of the grate cooler.
